Chatting to some non muso friends last week and a Phil Collins live DVD came up and I asked if lee sklar was playing. They went "huh? who?"
So I rephrased the question
"did he have Gandalf on bass?'
reply "Ohhhh, yeah Gandalf was on bass"
got a quiet giggle out of it.

Last year my fiance got us tickets for the final show at the Mellon Arena. The show was Carol King and James Taylor. I like them both, but what really excited me was that Leland Sklar was on bass and Russ Kunkel was on drums. It was freaking magic.

I saw that show in LA. It was hearing Lee Sklar both at that show and with Phil Collins that really sent me on my quest for a Dingwall. Now I just have to grow the beard.
