I get it all the time, too. Honestly, I find it annoying, funny, and amusing all at the same time. People actually come up to bass players after gigs now and will talk to them and take interest in their role in a band. To me, that seems like a very nice thing for an often overlooked instrument. Actually, I'm beginning to see a lot of girls do that motion whenever I'm playing right in front of them. I just smile and wink at them, and they will usually come up and talk to me after the gig  |

The worst part is, that anyone who says it to you thinks it's clever and funny, and automatically thinks you must think it's clever and funny since you're a bass player.
