Who wants to live an extra 5-10 years anyway ? Thats 5-10 years when you're 70 or 80.....so confused and miserable you'll probably be wishing you were dead.
No... Just no.

Ew, no I don't miss smoking in bars, and I haven't noticed any change in business or clientele. We did go back and do a gig in Tennessee where smoking was still legal in bars and I thought it sucked. I was no longer used to it and really suffered- I was coughing after about 40 minutes and by the end of the set my eyes were burning out of my head. Maybe the fact that the guitarist and the keyboardist were both smoking like chimneys, reliving their glory days of being able to smoke while they played.

The week before my 84 year old dad passed away he was playing golf, drinking beer and smokin cigars--but he knew how to moderate.

The people that develop health issues from smoking and drinking and bad diet etc usually don't practice much moderation.

I'm willing to bet that cigarettes of now are much different (chemically) then they were years ago. That could have a lot to do with it.

For example, did you know there are specific chemicals in cigarettes that they put in to control how evenly and how long they burn?

Tell your dad to try an electronic cigarette they work well.

Had a fine cigar last night, eating a sausage and egg biscuit right now, and feeling good. Are there any health benefits of satisfaction?

I'm reminded of an old Steve Martin joke that went...' Whenever someone asks me, "Mind if I smoke?"..I answer, Why no!, Mind if I fart!

I'm also reminded of a scene from the TV show 3rd Rock From The Sun, when space alien, Dick, discovers the pleasure of smoking, his secretary Nina walks in to find him smoking about six cigarettes at once....She says 'Don't you know those things take ten years off your life!
Dick's response is 'Yeah,..But those years are off the end of your life, and those years suck anyway."

only bad habit i've never had. Had all the others besides gambling (well no IV either). But I cannot stand the nazi government telling people what to do.

But even though I've not been drunk or high for 20+...I still LOVE the smell of the Mary Jane, in its cooked and uncooked state. Don't know why. I wasn't a real dope smoker, I liked the drink and the harder "modern stuff".

I like the look of smoky bars but hanging around cigarette smoke really does irritate my lungs and I hate the smell.
If it was all pipes and cigars? I love that smell. Nasty high-dose-nicotine-delivery-systems/cancer-sticks are really gross.

I played a gig at a local watering hole Saturday night, which is also Steak night there. Because of the the proximity of my rig to the kitchen, my whole setup (and now my music room at home) all smell like grilled sirloin. No joke
