I guess I am a different breed. I have a natural finish Fender jazz that has lost about 80% of its polyurethane finish and that combination smell of smoke and chicken wings adds to the mojo
I hope theres a smoking ban in MD soon, after a gig my clothes smell the worst, and my bass just smells of sweat. we played in a barn recently and i was hoping my gear wouldnt smell like cow doo-doo, luckily it didnt.
I just cleaned up an amp with tolex that smelled HORRIBLE. Just got it a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't so sweet smelling. I had some armor-all cleaner (not the protectant) that is usually for dashboards and interiors, and it worked great. It got rid of about 95% of the smell that had probably been there for years. I wouldn't do this every week, though, so sitting it outside to air out would be the best idea to me.
