But then nobody told me about it.

Story: So my dad's friends (one plays drums and the other plays guitar) rented a recording room at this one place, which they do every once in a while. You go in and jam and stuff and it records it. Anyways I was invited to play bass with the, but nobody said a word to me. One of his friends thought he told me and my dad flat out forgot. So I get a call at my house asking me where me and my dad are, we were supposed to be there an hour ago and he couldn't get a hold of my dad. They were leaving in 45 min and it would take me (give or take) about an hour to get there.

I was disappointed but just laughed later. My dad is calling later to see if they're are doing it again today.

Man! Got screwed again!

So, you're dad's band booked studio time and he pulled a no-show?

Dad's friends. Lol he forgot. He plays harmonica but I don't think he was invited. I'm not sure what we were going to play but I know one of his friends loves black sabbath. My dad plays blues harp lol

His friend called earlier and said they were renting a room later (like at 7) and he'd call back later with the specifics.

So I went and I had a lot of fun! My lines were really simple (5 notes max per song, really) but it was fun and we all had a great time. Pics soon to come.

I had like 2 "fills" which were exciting tho they were like 4 seconds each. I had to stare at the guitarist(s) to see what to play. One was kinda doing his own thing most of the time and the other one was unpredictable (drop a line and go to another). I could deal with both if I wasn't watching em to see what to play. A few songs I would just play notes at the beginning of the song til it matched my dad (on harp) and turned it into a pattern. The drummer was kinda new (only played a few times before, lots of natural talent) but he would slow down for a few seconds (run out of time) and I would think it was me playing too fast.

Despite all this trouble we sounded really good! None of us have played together before (except for one of the guitarists and the drummer), and we would just jump into a jam and make it a song. My dad killed on his lead work. Very successful nite.

Oh turns out it wasn't 2 of my dads friends... it was his friend and his friend's son (The son and myself used to be good friends despite the age difference, from our dads hanging out so much, our dads were elementary school friends and just kept it through the years). It is 1st or 2nd year in college in Louisiana so every time he comes back to houston him and the guitarist jam a little here.
