So if guitar players are a dime a dozen......

That makes em worth .8 cents. Nearly a penny, but not quite.

Wanna-be vocalists are a dime a gross, so they are worth .07 cents.

So what do you think other musicians are worth monetarily?

Just for kicks and grins.

I'd say bassists are worth 1000 dollars a pop.
But that include "high maintenence fees", inferiority complex insurance, GAS insurance, and the waitlist cost because there is constant demand.

And remember, this thread is for kicks and giggles.

Musicians - not sure. But a singer without any ego issues is worth their weight in rubies.

What if they're 300 pounds?

Saxaphoners: 3 pennies each. Sometimes necessary, but there are so many that you don't have to pay 'em much.

Trumpet: a quarter if they're good. If they're in the crappy highschool band then give 'em a penny.

Tuba: worth nothing to a rock band or anything involving a bass guitar. We own the bassline. to anyone else: $500 if they're good.

Well, sure. But then, so are unicorns, leprechauns, and all manner of other non-existant creatures.

It's a good thing that Tubists aren't worth their weight in gold, otherwise they'd be very expensive.

Avg Tubist = 300 lbs
Cost per ounce of gold = $620
Total cost for Tubist if they were worth their weight in gold = $2976000

BUT...a guitar player with good tone, who plays at a reasonable volume, and doesn't think he has to solo constantly, is PRICELESS!

A good drummer is worth a lot, a great drummer is irreplaceable.

The rhythm section is where the money's at! We make the guys up front look good.
