So my guitard quit after the iron maiden concert

Sign in to disble this ad
Myself, my drummer and singer went together to see iron maiden. The guitard decides hes going to maiden with a friend of his not us. So we go to maiden and were in the 112 section. guitard is on the floor with his friend. We never seen eachother only a few texts before the concert. After the concert we get in my singers suv and start driving home. about half way home my drummer gets a text from the guitard "were are you guys" so we reply i75. He replies back "ohh i was gonna go home with you guys" so we reply well we are about 20 miles away already. hes like "thats ok i will go with Eddie" well about 15 minutes later he texts again "I guess im taking a cab" to which my singer is like i guess so cause im not driving back. well 2am my drummer texts me that the guitard says hes done with the band because he is sick of people who only care about themselves anyways looks like im gonna be auditioning a few guitards this week. thought i would share

Sounds like your guitarist is very self centered if you ask me.....

He quit because he wasn't going to be as good as one of the 3 Maiden guitarists.

Sounds like the best ending for everyone. I'm going to go take an aspirin after reading through your grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Well, your former guitarist sounds relatively immature. However, in that you refer to him as a "guitard," it is not surprising that the relationship is nearing an end.

I was supposed to go to Iron Maiden that night, but my friend changed his mind due to ticket prices.

Ya, unless he discussed the ride with you BEFORE the concert and you AGREED to give him a ride what did he expect?

Seems like a lot if he wanted you to turn around and go get him, he's just being childish because when he did the whole "Well Eddie will give me a ride" thing, he again for a second time created an expectation that AGAIN backfired on him.

The key here is he needs to know he can ask but he can't tell others what favors to do for him.

Move along and if he wants back in let him come hat in hand and then explain all this to him.

Guy sounds like a real dink. Like has been mentioned, very self-centered. And a lot of other words that get people banned from TB. Let him walk, he probably would have over something just as trivial down the line. Good luck finding someone who isn't a tool!

Eddie drives? His car must be huge - the last time I saw Maiden, Eddie was onstage and like forty feet tall.

Ah, the Oxford Comma. Agent provocateur of so many grammatical flame wars.

Wait, what were talking about?

I believe that comma is an optional one.

I recently checked and under APA style either usage (comma or not) is acceptable.

And a hearty second to the semi-comprehensibility of the OP.

"Use a comma to separate elements in a series. Although there is no set rule that requires a comma before the last item in a series, it seems to be a general academic convention to include it." http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/566/01/

You make plans (or the guitard should) in advance. Then, you confirm or repeat the plans for anyone with a buildup of ear wax that may not have heard.

Your recounting of the events sounds like the guitard needs 'mind readers' to support his habits. Meh...

The guitarist sounds like someone who fails to plan ahead and then reaps the benefit of that lack of planning.
