Guitar on the other hand always seems more cerebral to me, a lot more thinking into what's going on.
For that reason, I enjoy playing bass more because I can just feel it out instead of playing a game of keeping up with what I'm thinking to do on guitar. Maybe that's just me though. |

| | | I noticed years ago that when I play and people dance, all the women's butts move in time with the two fingers on my right hand. I find that very entertaining!
BTW, I suppose it might work on guys too, but I don't know--never looked.

LOL, that's what a tell my brother all the time. Go ahead jump around on stage, stand on your toes, make those funny faces and swing your hair around. Just remember, I'm the one who gets to the booties shakin and the heads bobbin. No one can dance to a guitar solo.

You can not "convert" someone to that. |

It's gotta be something that fits you and something you want to do..you have to be comfortable and enjoy what you're doing..its ilke trying to convince a blue collar boy that working in an office wearing a monkey suit is better than working with his hands...he may do it,maybe for the money..but hes not going to do what he likes

I don't know that bass is more fun than guitar for everyone, but it's more fun for me. Different things fit different people. It's not just size of the instrument but temperament of the player.
I do agree with dnarock, though that guitar seems so tiny, and unlike him I'm only 5'5". When I see electric guitars now it's with a feeling of disinterest because they are so puny.

fwiw I consider myself a way better guitar player than bass (been playing gtr for around 13 years longer - and now I'm depressed about being old ) - so in that respect it's frustrating when I'm on a gig and I know if I had a guitar around my neck I might have a bit more fun. But bass is a very sexy instrument - in a non guitar-flashy way. not better I think, just different. I dig both! But lately I really do prefer bass playing . . . if my skill level improves just a little bit I'll be rockin' | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
