Haha, the song actually is copyrighted and the officially registered charts include the bassline exactly as I played it. The mandola player and singer are listed as the writers, though somehow I don't think that really matters in this case.

Maybe I'm just being cynical, but the cartoon bear was playing one note. If you're upset because your one-note bassline got ripped off by a cartoon, maybe you are too easily offended.

I'm thinking this is a joke (and a funny one at that), but if it's not then I have 3 words for the OP.

Get over it.

The line is so simple that it'd be like original artists complaining about people stealing their lines when all they do is outline the root motion of progression.

Copywrite?

You guys are missing the essence of the song it is NOT the note. It's the rhythm I must have played that note a million times it's mine!

I am calling my lawyer.

The bear has 2 million or more views between that and his other one note wonders, and you have, I forget, roughly the number of talkbassists that looked plus your bandmembers' extended families. And the bear has been at it longer than you. Notice that he also plays ambidextrously, so who stole whose bassline kiddo?
