Kirk: Star Fleet command has issued orders that every starship in the fleet must form a band to participate in a battle of the bands competition. Mr Spock, I would like you to play the bass.
Spock: Captain, might I point out that to dedicate my talents to a 4-string instrument with a limited frequency range would be an illogical waste of the Enterprise’s resources.
McCoy: What’s the matter Spock, afraid you don’t have what it takes to get down and get funky?
Spock: No, Doctor McCoy, in fact, the odds of me not getting down and getting funky are approximately 3 million and 24 to 1. I am merely suggesting that I can easily program the ship’s computers to play the bass lines to over 3000 selections in a relatively short period of time: 1 minute and 3.7 seconds to be precise. |
