Someone in another thread , talking about an amp said;

" I play bass , I don't play Treble"

Man , this is priceless.
That is Spinal Tap material.

Any other ideas for a spinal Tap sequel ?

Why is that Spinal Tap material? It sounds like someone was making humour from sarcasm and not idiocy.

It was Derek Smallsish to me or perhaps a little more Nigelian.

Very Derek Smalls!

Hilarious!

Sadly, too many bassists that I have run sound for actually believe this to some extent.
Endless worry about getting enough deep low end while ignoring the rest of the speakers in our system.
Mud.
Not good at all.

Terrible, in fact.
You must have mids and highs if you want tone and attack and definition.

We have 18" subs like most decent systems--lows aren't a problem!
Getting the bassist to pay attention to what is coming out of the mids and horns is a constant battle.

There was a ST sequel already - it was out sometime in the early 90's. The amp went to 20, and during the guitar solo the rest of the band left the building.

Wish I could find a copy of that...
