The strangest thing happened to me on Craigslist...

... 3 legitimate responses the first day and no spam! Only one of them ended up being what I was looking for, but I've never had 3 responses from a 45 day run, let alone the day after I post it (I posted it at something like 3 AM). Here is the ad if you're curious: http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/muc/3530411216.html

Maybe I said something that people liked. Like the part about the money

Well, it IS a pretty good ad... Hits all the right spots, at least. If I were someone to put together a band you'd be smearing honey in my ears lol.

Professional-sounding ad, and greetings from another local TB'er...

Raz

I want looking for compliments on the ad, but thanks! I have lost a couple due to age, but I'm fortunate to have more interest

I put an ad in Craigslist a few years ago and received a number of offers. My ad was somewhat similar to yours. I tried to provide reasonable expectations as to my playing abilities, genre of music acceptable to me and I used fairly decent grammar including full sentences. I was surprised that two replies included guys who wanted me just because of my appropriately written ad.

Your ad is well thought out, but I think it was the hat that got you the calls.

I kid. I kid. I always wear a hat at a gig.

Great job!

In that case the thread will have to be moved to BM.
