In studio, punk'd drummer

I don't like wasting time in the studio either, but we had this for free, and the drummer had to leave for about an hour to give a lesson. At the same time the guitard was at a dentist appointment, but got back earlier. Before our drummer got back, he (the guitard) laid down a terrible drum track. Pretty tight and steady, but still terrible. The drummer only left one stick and his brushes so he used the back side of one of those. The drummer gets back and the guitard hides, tricking him to think it's only me and the engineer in the studio.

"Hey man listen to the last take, we think it's pretty good"
"No, it's awful, I have to do it again"
"We really don't have time for that"
"Just listen! What the **** was I thinking???"
"Hey, I wasn't a 100% happy with my take either, deal with it!!"

We kept on until the guitarist had done some awful, out of place fills in the last bars and the drummer states: "THIS WASN'T ME!!!"

Excellent prank!! I'm surprised he lasted that long without figuring it out. Maybe we can also try something similar to that in our upcoming sessions.. thanks for the good idea!

Great story dude. My favorite is outting an autotuner on someones track and setting it to a different key.
