Are Bassits generally on the tall or short side?

In my experience all the best bass players are around 5"6-5"9, so I kinda feel awkward being 6"0 and still growing. So I was just wondering how tall are you guys? And is there something to my theory?

Hi.

Most of the bassists I know are short and fat. Some are just short .

I'm 175cm and 100kg.

I'm 6 foot and change. I know a lot of bass players in a wide variety of sizes. Tall doesn't seem to be a qualification, but wide is.

6' 4"ish and about 20 lbs overweight right now at 250.

i seem to play mostly with 6' plus guys, but most TB'ers i've met are a little shorter than that. but much, much better players.

take out of that what you will i guess.

Did you see my post? 115 lbs at 5'5" is slightly underweight, even. My fingers are pretty small too. Makes for some interesting fingerings.

6'3" here, I think bass players look better when they are taller, "more proportionate"

5ft 3-4" here and about 7 1/2 Stone. Don't know what the the pounds equivalent is.

5ft 9" is average though for a mans height.

I'm 6ft, 170 lbs but feel like a midget next to my guitarist and drummer in one of my bands. Guitar player 6ft 7in, 200 lbs. drummer is a monster at 6ft 9in and 260 pounds (he plays his drums waaay too loud).

The knower of all things, Google, can help you with that. Just type in 7 1/2 stone to lbs (or kg or whatever), and the most wise Google will calculate it for you. It appears that 7.5 stone=105lbs.

I'm 5'4'', 125lbs. I did however fall under the short & fat category for most of my bass playing career.
