TB OBSERVATIONS

Sign in to disble this ad
*some observations after a few months on TB...

boutique players hate factory basses
factory players hate boutique basses.

4 string players hate 5 & 6 string basses
5 & 6 string players hate 4 string basses.

everyone respects jaco
hardly anyone listens to him.

everyone likes to point out that there is a search function
nobody ever uses the search function.

mis-spell squier and you'll be flamed
mis-spell anything and you'll be flamed.

sx players like sx basses
non sx players like to make fun of sx basses (and sx players).

lots of people need help deciding between 3 low-budget basses...
i mean ALOT of people.

lots of people like to point out that a thread topic has been beaten to death...
as they keep posting to the new one.

nobody on earth knows what the best church bass is...

EVERYONE KNOWS that tonewoods are critical to the sound of a bass... or that they aren't.

I've got a lot of good info and pointers from these threads sometimes through the search and sometimes accidentally just looking at recent post I see someone has the same question I got . Bottom line there is a wealth of knowledge here but with any public forum the observations you listed arent that suprising
Now this Jaco guy is that the new bass player for Metallica if it is that guy RULES!!!

Pick vs Fingers
Flat vs Round

Don't forget the one where everybody thinks the term "guitard" is actually clever and/or funny.

Oh, and the one where everybody thinks that bass players can do no wrong and all the other band members are the egotistical/etc. ones.
