uh, how about this: the band consists of two college professors in our thirties (one in art, one in biology), one stay-at-home dad, and one guy who works several jobs and is a full-time student, and yet we're NOT a cover band. that makes us weird around here at least.

i joined a band that has a singer that can't read or write. when he performs he makes up sounds that sound like words. some lyrics and the entire chorus are intelligible,... THE REST IS MUMBLE-JUMBLE!!! OMG,... nobody in the group wanted to talk about it with me,, the "new" guy. so, one day i got up the nerve and asked,.. "Donny,.. what are the words coming out of your mouth"? "i can,t understand your lyrics".
he looks me in the eye and says,.. "the people don't seem to care and as long as they're having fun, you need not worry,... just play that bass son".
DAMN!!! he was right, ppl don't care. case in point... how many of us have favorite hit songs we can never de-cypher the lyrics of???? BUT, we still love those songs..,

The guitarist's 22-year-old son is our second guitar.

My lead singer was up until just recently dating Jill from the "hit" tv show Wipe Out. Actually there are a bunch of funny things about our band that are more noteworthy, but thought that was funny.

Rhythm guitarist/lead singer (male) and drummer (female) are married. Makes for some interesting exchanges @ rehearsal.

Bass, Drums, Keys, (Female) Vocals, Violin/Viola/Mando....

NO GUITAR!!!! Hahahahahahaha!

...And on top of that, our drummer is the band leader! (He's actually a very talented producer, keys player and songwriter)

I know, it's all very unusual..... and perfect!

Edit: Oops, forgot to mention that he and the vocalist are a couple as well. This makes the second "band with a couple" I've been in.

3 out of the 4 members in my band have the last name Brown, and none of them are related.

at one point, this was true for my band - including our roadie.

we've had more drummers than spinal tap.

My band started as a Hip Hop band when I was in the 4th grade... I'm 20 now, band has the same front man, no more hip hop. Many member changes later the band sounds entirely different but still bears the same name.

my band guitarist was addicted to cocaine.

and we all knew it but never wanted to talk it with him, it was obvious that he wasn't comfortable talking about it.

but one day we did. and he quit the band.

he was the only one using drugs, but also a very important part of the band.
now the band is gone. i miss that damn band.

All four members of my band live, play, and met in Minnesota...but none of us are MN natives. 3 of us are from 3+ states away.

Two of the members are graduate students who teach and TA, and are writing a thesis (drummer) and a novel (L. guitar).

Drummer is left handed and plays lefty, I am left handed but play righty (this is a weird phenomenon, I liked the first post)

And we play all original. We had one cover in our lineup but it wasn't offensive enough anymore.

ALL "Latin" - Three Italians and a Mexican, and the rhythm guitar player is an MD - the doctor for all the band members and their familes. It's how we all met.

- Everyone but the drummer have been with the same chick (Bass, Keys, lead guitarist, Ex Lead guitarist, singer)

- Dutch lead guitarist replaced, Polish lead guitarist

- Drummers half Iranian, Half Welsh

- Drummer (5'9'') Knocked our singer (6'7'') in a very drunken brawl after playing a festival

- Still we all love each other
