Thanks to everyone on TB.

Hey all. I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to everyone here on TB for helping to bring me along in the world of bass playing. I cant begin to mention all Ive learned over 2 years on this site, all in the preparation to finally gig. Well, our first gig (my first gig) was this past Thursday and it went perfect! There were a few mistakes made by every member, not because of inablility but more due to nerves, no one even noticed! We got a lot of positive feedback, we were invited back (good thing) and all our friends and coworkers who came out to support us were duly impressed....so was the venue with the bar tab for that hour! It couldnt have been a better night for ones first gig ever! I owe alot of it to TB'ers. Thanks again, and keep rockin".

Yo Ken! I didnt forget you brother. Your were going to get a personal thank you, Ive gotten alot of tips from you and learned alot. The show was awesome! Not the disaster I was afraid it could be,lol. My confidence is WAY up! There is some video on FaceBook....if you're familair with that, look up ShadowGuard (band) and you can see a rehearsal video, plus a video from the show which is near impossible to see because of bad lighting and camera work, but you can get a good sense of it....neither video really does us justice sound wise, but again, you can get a sense. Check it out, let me know your thoughts, it would mean alot to me. How have you been? I hope all is good and you're having a great summer. Chat soon.

Tom.

I remember my first gig! It was fantastic

Booked a local bar for an afternoon all ages show (we were like 15 at the time), invited all of our friends and another new young local band and had a GREAT time!

Well...unless you count the guitarist's neighbor's Bday party we played before that. Playing such favorites as "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Stacy's Mom."

Awesome! Im sure this first gig will never be forgotten, it was a blast, all went well, alot of friends / coworkers came for support.....and left as soon as we were finsihed, which really impressed the venue owners, and we were invited back assuming we already had a decent following. Next gig (2nd) is in 3 weeks. Im stoked!
