How many of you have played at Theme Parks/Amusement parks or something and tell us about your experience.

I plan on auditioning for some next summer.

Lots of guys that go to my school have done it, and mostly have positive things to say about it.

While I have never done it, my luthier has. He played Disney Land, in LA. My interpretation of his comments is: It's a job, not a gig. You have to be ready to go on time, with the company approved song list, in the company approved style. Or go home. If you are a strong believer in "musical & emotional truth", this might not be the gig for you. If you are a prima donna type, this most definitely is not for you.

But if you are willing to play for the pay check, and understand that attitude, it can be a lot of fun. And you will learn a lot musically, as well as stage craft, such as hecklers, bad weather, equipment failures, etc.

Just make sure you know what you are getting into.

As long as you know what you're getting into, I think it would be a fun gig
