OR: Count 1,2,3,4... /1,2,3... to a time signature that is not helped by those countings (Like if its in 4/4, count 1,2,3 all the way through and throw off the band, and vice versa if its in something other then 4/4, count to 4! Its really confusing.)
Bass and Drums: Plan something to play on them the day before. Like rock up and just decide that now its your turn to be the lead singer. You've deserved it. | My drummer did that counting thingy.

Count-in => 2,3,4....
