Eat a good meal , drink lots of water before and during the gig , check to see if I'm in tune and my amp is running ok , If I can I do some pushups to get my energy up , I also do some chromatic runs on the fretboard to warmup my fingers .

Where's the rape nuns and sell smack to preschoolers option on the poll? That's pretty bunk if you ask me...

Of course not

Firstly that's a waste of good smack. Secondly do you know the implications of getting a nun pregnant???

I drive to the gig, get set up, make sure everything is working, wash my hands, get some water, do a final tuning, make sure set list is on the floor next to my pedal board, say something stupid into my mic so I know it's working, then I turn my cell phone down and put it on top of my rack.

Sometimes if I have time I will talk to somebody or sign autographs but most of the time I can't be bothered with such things.

1. Go to the bathroom.

2. Verify that I have closed my fly.

3. Gear Check.

4. Maybe a nice cigar, time permitting, one should never rush a fine cigar.

5. Check Gear, Again.

6. Check Fly, Again.

7. Go Play Bass. My hair is long-gone, and I'm old and unattractive, so the hair and makeup checks are a thing of the past.

My pre-gig day usually goes something like this:

Avoid eating for at least 5 hours before a gig - food in my stomach makes it more difficult to sing and I tend to preform better if I'm hungry.

Call the keyboardist and remind him what time we're supposed to load in (pad it by an hour).

Relax and do nothing for a few hours before-hand.

Call the keyboardist and remind him it's almost time to leave.

Review the setlist to see if there are any surprises - if so, I'll give those songs a listen or maybe run through them.

Call the keyboardist and tell him he should have left already.

On the way to the gig, I listen to music that is completely different than what we're playing that night. However, if we're doing new songs, I'll listen to them over and over.

Call the keyboardist and ask him where he is and how long before he'll be there.

I also don't like to eat before a gig. I just don't like feeling full. I seem to have a little more energy.

Your Keyboardist sounds like my whole band.
