Awwwww come ON! No Can't Stop???

While I tend to play my own stuff or improvise at the local GC, I'll thump through a few classics every now and then, Can't Stop being one of them lol.

Just to be a pain, I'd walk up there with a bass and go "Now was that PRE or POST Cliff Burton Metallica?"...then whatever the answer, I would go grab a pick and play Schism or Sober by Tool for 4 hours straight....then I'll play the entire Hybrid Theory album on guitar while I sing along as well =)

I stopped in at the neighborhood independent shop last Saturday, like always. I came in at about 11:30 and there was a young guy playing the first two bars of "Crazy Train."

Just the first two bars.

Over and over.

He did stop a couple times to un-tune the guitar some more.

When I left 45 minutes later, he was still there. Still playing those two bars.

Over and over....

I'd move for a blanket ban on shredding. I don't know about anyone else, but I like to hear myself think.

You don't even need to be in your average given establishment 30 minutes shooting the breeze to hear this stuff. Add a little slop factor and young kids insisting to scoop the hell out of their mids and it's easy to get sore very quickly!

I'm shocked no one's mentioned "Feel Good Inc." (Until Now!)

I wonder what that shop would do if Ritchie Blackmore walked and fired up the Smoke On The Water riff......

He wouldn't suck, so it wouldn't be as annoying. Ya gotta remember, part of the "charm" of these overdone tunes is being played on guitars with scratchy tones and an unrefined sloppy technique.
