Tomorrow? Guitar Center!

I'm so thrilled! My wife and her friend are going to the new IKEA in town and Guitar Center is right across the parking lot. I can deal with a short, arrogant stroll in 95°F weather.

I haven't been to Guitar Center on the South side of Denver/Englewood for about a year -- a few months before I became a TB member. I've delighted on countless threads of GC-style guitards showin' theyz chops and truly helpful associates who haven't the slightest concept of what the bass market might need.

Figure I could have some fun with it, at the worst. I don't plan on being an as---- a rude guy or anything, but might just enjoy my time there with hopes to come back and share a fun story or two.

"Any flatwounds?"

I've never been to a Guitar Center, but I'm moving to Golden next week and I'm pumped to visit one!

Nice! Sound like the best of both worlds! You get to candy shop and the wife will leave you alone!

I haven't been to the GC down south but the GC in Arvada is pretty cool and they treat me good there

I might be working at my local one soon, I hope I don't regret it. Has anyone here ever taken a job a GC? If so, how was the experience?

Yeah, good one.
The last time I was in a GC, about 3 weeks ago, I asked about the new Fender Blacktop basses and the sales associate looked at me like I was from another planet.

GC has a coupon, BTW, I saw it in the ads here on TB. If I didn't just crush my credit card on a new Ric I'd be considering it.

Well, I didn't end up going. The whole group of folks I was with tired out a the new IKEA store (it was completely insane) so we decided to head back to Aurora. I was even inspired by RHCP's "Breaking the Girl" playing over their radio.

Me? I was good to go -- had one of them fancy Monster drinks. Maybe next time.

I just used that coupon this afternoon when I went to exchange a pair of Senheiser HD280 headphones for some Beyerdynamic 770 Pros. Ended up saving 30 bones so that kept my purchase under $200. Plus they sound GREAT and don't squeeze my head like a vice.

Then my 8 year old son says "Hey dad, let's go in this room over here!" It was the used guitar and bass room and I knew I was in trouble .

Ended up seeing a Squire P-bass all by itself in the corner. It started wagging it's tail and jumping up and down as soon as we walked in the room . It was a beaut, too. The color was an interesting blue and was strung with Black Beauties I think. The perfect mod/gig bass. Turns out it's not available until the 8th, as it is still under 30 day GC used gear quarrantine. So, after she gets her shots, I'll be bringing her home next Friday .

She'll be going to a good home

Yeah, my five year old was totally stoked to go, too. I let him jam on my guitar and bass all the time, and the drum room is a treat for him. I think he was disappointed, too.
