I always though Danny Bonaduce sounded a lot like Carol Kaye!

Something told me Jermaine Jackson couldn't pull off those lines ... I always thought the Jackson 5 songs had wonderful bass lines , now I know why.

To be fair, Peter Tork did actually play bass on a few studio tracks and live. He usually played guitar or keyboards though.

I played on the show The Other Half and Danny Bonaduce walked up to me, introduced himself, pointed down at my bass and said "I used to know how to hold one of those things." My brush with greatness!

Don't forget my fave- Samuel L. Jackson as "B-Bop" working faking it out on DB in the 1991 flick "Johnny Suede".

(Re; Partridge Family- I had me a serious crush on Susan Dey.)

I remember reading an interview with some famous bassist (Stu Hamm maybe?) who said Danny Bonaduce was his favorite bass player, because he can change notes without moving his hand at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Wilton Felder played the bass parts for Jackson 5.

How about Irving the kick-ass bass player from the band "the Mosquitos", the band that was stranded on Gilligans Island. He had so much mojo he didn't even need electricity to play his bass!

Not all of them were Jamerson. "I Want You Back" was Wilton Felder on bass.

You and me, both, brother.

I think Bonaduce used to tell the story that when he first, ahem, played, the bass, he was strumming it like a guitar and David Cassidy stopped the take and at least corrected that.
