Jermaine (as I have said in earlier capsule reviews) comes off like a cross between Jamerson & Jack Bruce...probably a bit too raw for studio-grade recording...that's why seasoned Pros (Jamerson, Felder, Brown, etc) were employed...it's what they do.

His bass playing is pretty good too. His banjo playing, keyboard skills, and acoustic guitar playing are the most impressive to me. I think Mike Nesmith is a very good rhythm player as well.

Elvis, as really the first superstar, is a very interesting guy; and the folks there do a great job telling the story. Highly recommended.
