+1

Sometimes I'm guilty of that, but if I don't talk to anyone before the set, it's because I'm trying to save my voice (I'm also the singer)

Two out of four members of my band love country. I am NOT one of them. And Sweet Home Alabama makes it onto our setlist quite often. Skynyrd is pretty big up here, actually.

And dang it, I was really hoping that the Cowboys wouldn't score. Dirty cheaters....

So while I'm at it, I'm going to put a pretty much random number down and say
#20, Bands that root for teams other than the Packers.

This is refering to your average original show with 3-4 bands playing per night.
There are so many shows where my band was the headliner and the other bands think that there amazing and play for an hour and a half, everyone hates it and leaves when my band goes on the place is empty

#21? How about bands (especially metal) that have ZERO stage presence and then whine when the crowd is just standing there. Sorry but if you cant get into your own music you shouldnt expect strangers to.

Some bands seem to think the stage is theirs for the evening. I refer to these bands as amateurs. If you as good as you think, you wouldn't be playing this dump and you would know about schedules.

And, I refuse to wear pants onstage. shorts only!

Yea, why do thy even make sheet music or stands? Surely nobody changes their set list that often.

And the bands that plump up their calender by listing private gigs, they must think people look at the web site to see if a band is available for a date before calling.

There are gigs where having a stand and music in front of you is appropriate, but nothing screams "unprofessional" to me more than watching a band where the lead vocalist (or any other band member) has his or her head buried in a music stand reading lyrics or parts instead of connecting with the crowd.

guitfiddle, I'm guilty for listing "Private Event" on my gig schedule on my site. My reasoning is that it lets people know that we do private functions (which are generally much higher-paying). That said, I never send a private date out in a newsletter.
I suppose there are times when the "Private Event" can be useful like you said and I agree wholeheartedly with your premise. The jokers I was referring to did it entirely to feed their delusional outlook on life.

And, oh yeah, here's one I forgot on my original list:

Endorsements of political candidates on band websites. I want to hear you play, not blather about who you vote for.

You know, I don`t see the problem with bands listing their private gigs on their website. It says(to possible employers) that they are a legitimate band that are worth the money they ask for and that they are available to play for private functions. IMHO, it`d be stupid for a band not to include it on their website.

Bands/band members that are on stage but look like they ...

Just came in from mowing the yard, or just got out of bed.

And I'm sorry (and I don't care which genre) wear shorts and or no shirts, you just lost me.

how about "friends" bands that implore you to come to their gigs (which you do) and then never return the favor, what is up with that shite?

I checked out your MySpace clank, and that type of music fits with the shorts look. It's agressive stuff (and very good btw). For that kind of music, it's fine... for most any other type of music it looks incredibly unprofessional, IMO.

Or, "friends" bands that ask you to sit in on A tune, and then proceed to either:

1) Go into "jam" mode for what seems like a half hour leaving you no discreet place to step out.
2) The guy you're sitting in for doesn't come right back, and you can see him sitting having a drink and chatting.
