just letting everyone know..

the music is so fast it really pushed me to my limits of speed while still needing to keep every note clean.. and i like that alot..

it was also the first time i got to use my MM in a band situation and they loved it.

www.myspace.com/humanrepugnance if you want to check them out..

I tried out for a death Metal band ... after about 10 or 12 songs I unpluged and started packing up my stuff. I didn't like that kind of music.

Not bad as far as Death Metal goes.

I've just always wondered what it is about these bands that makes them spell out their names in the most indecipherable fonts known to man?

Sounds like someone is caughing up a loogie...I kinda hear a high screamer in there. I guess I'm more used to just hearing someone scream, and not that other prominent sound.

Not in love with the vocalist, but that's some cool music. I hope you get the spot.

I'm not much for most death metal, but my main band is a black metal band.

To get the screaming thing... you really have to do it... then you get how much fun and what a great emotional outlet it can be. I do some of the vocals for my band.

It looks cool and makes it hard to read unless you already know what it says. It also gives clues about a band's style and lyrical themes sometimes. For example, a black metal band that has lots of Celtic or Norse style knot designs in their logo is likely to have some folk influences. A death metal band whose logo looks like blood and guts is probably going to have songs about... blood and guts.

My band doesn't wear capes or make-up. Most of the bands we listen to don't either.

When I was growing up, we had "hard rock" (aka hair metal), "heavy metal" (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) and "thrash", which included anything faster than Iron Maiden (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, etc). Now, it's like Baskin Robbin's 32 flavors of heavy metal: death metal, black metal, hardcore, grindcore, screamo, deathcore, applecore (ok, I made that one up).

What is the difference between black metal and death metal?

Death metal is usually a little slower and kinda drones. Black metal is fast and percussive. At least, thats the difference I see. I don't really listen to either one that much.
