The Ultimate "GAS" frustration..

Sign in to disble this ad
...ever order some trinket, bauble, dream bass, etc. and watch it track via the internet, be it UPS, USPS, or FedEX, only to see it land in your town and "sit there?"

I've had it happen twice recently. I had bass arrive at the local FedEx Facility at 6 p.m. on a Friday night, and sit there all weekend until delivery on Monday. (And yes I called, and couldn't go get it).

Then, last week I ordered something and it's coming "SmartPost." According to the tracking, today at 10:36 a.m. it was "Out for Delivery." Of course, the mail at work comes at 9 a.m., so I'll probably have to wait tomorrow! Grrrr!

P.S. Please don't think I'm complaining. This isn't a rant about delivery systems. I'm just poking fun at myself.

Ever freak out because you logged on to track your package only to find it's headed the "wrong" way? e.g. New Toy is coming from OH to GA and traching says it just left Cincinatti for Indianapolis.

Hehe... Up here in Canada the postal service was under a rotating strike (stop mail service for a city for a week, then another city the next week, etc) but now they've completely shut it down...

My wife had sent a birthday gift/card last week, expecting quick delivery (since the strike was not "here"), but over the weekend it went to a complete lockout, so no delivery in sight now

Or another tale from a co-worker, who ordered a synth from the US, tracked the package's 2-day trip to the border where it then waited at customs for a week and a half before finally starting the final leg to his house... only to have him miss the first delivery attempt since he wasn't there

Gotta make you laugh

+ 1

In Europe it is even more frustrating, certainly when living in a small country like Belgium.
I have seen packages criss-cross the territority of our kingdom 3 times before the actual delivery takes place ...

Joke was on me!

Turns out the USPS, in an unprecedented move, actually made a SECOND trip out to my work and delivered the package! Of course, they didn't bother to update their tracking till after 6 p.m., even though it had been delivered at 1 p.m.! Our receptionist gets the mail out of the locked mailbox once a day, in the morning. She had no reason to go out and check it again, so it sat in the mailbox all day.

Fortunately, I was still able to get my package last night. Found someone with a key who could open the mailbox, and found someone else who didn't mind meeting me near my house so I didn't have to schlep all the way back to work.

So, score one for the USPS for delivering my package 2 days early!
