Do you have any resonating stories?
Reference the thread titled something like "Farting During A Gig" - lots of stories there.

I've noticed that, when the bass comes in, women start to dance and resonate in a very appealing way

A few years ago I heard a story about a church in Europe that had a nice old pipe organ refurbished. After a few weeks use, the low C had to be disconnected because it was cracking the foundation!

Cool UNEXPECTED RESONATIONS, INDEED!

Our band played a set at a friend's blues session last night. I decided to take my own cabinet and amp because I wasn't sure what the house bassist's rig would be; he was eager to try my amp so we placed my amp on top of his cabinet and I put my cabinet on the floor next to the stage.

During the set before ours, an attractive young lady decided to sit on my cabinet. When it was our turn to play, I plugged into my cabinet without moving it - or saying anything to the young lady. Talk about resonance you should have seen the look on her face when I began playing! At first she flinched, but then she seemed to relax and enjoy the ride. It was all I could do to keep a straight face when we began playing a song that starts with a sustained low B

How did she react to a low G? I was going to say something about ... G spot ... oh, I can't believe I just said that.

Our practice room is pretty bad for that-- I make the snare drum vibrate all the time. Once I really cranked it up and a framed photo shook right off the wall.

By far though, the worst is when you're playing in a room and some random thing is vibrating but you can't locate it... like some odd piece of gear sitting on a shelf or something. Annoys the s**t outta me. Anyone else have this happen?

Although I was a little tempted to twiddle with my EQ to see if she would react, I demurred. I was pleased to observe her enthusiastic response to our music, however.

I was just practicing (aka having fun annoying my parents by maxing out everything on my poor lil Fender Rumble 15) and my ENTIRE room shook when I played my open G lmao... My parents got REALLY p0'd though (lMaO)

*no offense to any parents here but we teenagers need to have fun somehow. Be happy, we aren't doing drugs- just making the house shake.

Just played a gig last night where the stage seemed to resonate with the low F#. Made my feet tingle.

what about...

I played with this guy who switched off from electric guitar to an ovation guitar... those ovations resonate like a sonofab*&%. Just about every note I'd play.

Just the typical things that have been mentioned...but shortly after I got my iPhone, I set it down during a sound check (not even thinking) and it rang through my PJB Sixpak amp at 300 watts. You might say that produced some unexpected resonations!

My "music room" at home where I practice and just mess around is a large combination living room/dining room. In the dining room section there is a large hutch. On that piece of furniture, my wife has some pewter plates displayed.

Every time I hit an "E" (doesn't matter if it's open or fretted), the pewter plates rattle. No other notes cause it to do that. Just the E's. Strange, but it's just the frequency of that one note...

A couple of years ago I was evaluating a Mesa Bass 400+ for a month or so. I'd go and crank up my SS amps and I'd hear rattling all around in the ceiling and stuff- but I'd fire up the Mesa through the same cab, and at the same apparent volume I those rattles didn't happen. That held true for the entire time I was using that amp.

At one bar I play fairly frequently, my E notes resonate like crazy, especially the 7th fret on the A string. It isn't too much of a problem except for certain songs, "7 Nation Army" for example is ridiculously bad, at which point it becomes absolutely horrifying!! I assume I could mess with the graphic EQ for tunes like that to alleviate the problem, but I don't know what frequency(frequencies?) to adjust. But I do know that it sucks and I sound horrible and feel like an idiot! And hell, sometimes I see some ceiling panel flakes on my amp at the end of the night, it wouldn't surprise me if I was crumbling the freakin ceiling with my E notes. Yikes!
