Unsolicited comment from my daughter

I just overheard my four year old daughter say the following to my step-mother-in-law: "When I grow up, I'm going to rock out in my daddy's band."

My work is done here.

It's those things in life that make it worthwhile.

Just don't let her grow up to be a drummer. (Or date one.) Good job with the child. Congrats.

That's impossible. You know that old joke, don't you?
Little boy walks up to his dad and say, "Dad, when I grow up I want to be a drummer". Dad says, "You can't do both, son".

In this case, substitute daughter for son.

That's great Mr Pickels. I hope her dreams come true.

And, I got my 17yo daughter that same purple Ibanez for Christmas. It's a great little axe for the price. A few minutes setting it up and she's ready to rock.

I love spending evenings jamming with my 16 year old son... It's something we share
and he's a pretty good guitarist..

Excellent! If she can sing and play any instrument, she'll have a lifetime of employment.
But your work is NOT done! You gotta get her started early!

In all seriousness, I have a four year old daughter and the last thing I want her to do is join a rock band. My work will be done when she graduates from medical school.

I guess I don't understand your reply? You don't think I can get her through medical school?
