Ok so a funny thing happened at practice, just for the sake of it i occasionally hit the crash cymbal with my headstock (looks more metal ) and after our practice, our singer decided to try it. Hitting his head on the bell and the stand coming through the middle. Ending in a headache and some blood.

Most drummers I know would be about as thrilled with that move as a bassist would be if a drummer went after his bass with the edge of a cymbal. But what do I know? I'm not worried about looking more metal.

Cymbals are expensive. You will probably find that out one day if you keep doing that.

One time during a gig I was all pumped full of adrenaline and got the genius idea of biting our drummers crash cymbal just kinda to get in his face and pump things up hahaha, I didn't realize there was no way of him telling how hard it was biting the damn thing, small chip out of the tooth. hahaha, there's my embarrassment....

Reminds me of the trick which we all did in church to annoy the drummer was to slam his (expensive) hi-hats down to make them sound a note.

Not all the time obviously, but it makes it better than just standing there slowly nodding your head. I've seen a few huge bands, but the small ones that go nuts on stage and run around the crowd get my attention just as much

People have already commented on drummer's reactions, so I'll leave that one alone. Just some thoughts about what may or may not happen. But how about these situations?

#1 If during a show, what if your shot cracks the cymbal? That cymbal is going to irregularly buzz, vibrate and basically sound terrible for the rest of the show.

#2 This is very extreme & I don't know if anything like this ever happened... But what if your shot sends a sharp shard of metal flying into the audience. If it hits someone's eyes, you can bet there will be a hefty lawsuit. The band would be responsible, not the venue.

The drummer I play with has a set at school for band that has about $3000 of cymbals on it, not to mention $1500 of hardware and $1000 of shells, so I've learned not to do things like this.

Addendum: his personal everyday kit is a white Diamond kit combined with the warped shell kit(sounds like crap, but usable) I have in my storage barn. That whole setup isn't worth $500, and after playing The Grand Conjuration by Opeth at a practice, he threw a great deal of the kit across the room. It may have been gross misuse of equipment, but seeing him trash his kit while the guitarist is shredding, growling, and I'm playing(or trying to) a finale of sorts was damn near the funniest thing I've ever seen.

I once convinced my drummer to let me bash my head on his cymbal during one particularly heavy song. He agreed. I tried it once, realized how it took way more effort than I thought it would (bending the knees to get within reach, throwing my head with enough force to make some sound but not enough to hurt my neck, etc.) and never did it again. Plus I felt like an idiot afterward.

I wouldn’t expect hitting a cymbal with the headstock would cause damage to the cymbal,

but I’m thinking it could take a chunk of wood out of the headstock or neck if hit the wrong way.

Funny… all I do is try to avoid hitting my headstock (let alone my head) on anything.

I wouldn't do it myself. I've nailed my head on a cymbal before, but not intentionally. I've learned that the crowds go nuts for shenanigans and violence, but the key is to not destroy anything pricy in the meantime. We have a song in the band I play in (kind of a progressive/retro sounding rock band) were the end of it is a big crescendo/build up with a crash cymbal hit to end it, so the drummer tosses me a mallet (a marimba or other key mallet) from his stick bag attached to the kit and I tomahawk it at the crash cymbal for the final note.
