Man! Tough Day! Band was booked in Phoenix to play at the state fair at 5 Pm. We borrow my dad's truck so I can have a reliable vehicle to haul my rig in.We start out 1:45 plenty of time to get to staging and be ready, (it's a bit over 2 hours from Tucson to get to the Fairgrounds), get 70 miles out ... we have a flat tire. No big deal, except the spare turns out to be bald and low on air. How he missed this is beyond me , he must finally be experiencing the ravages of age ( hes 76 ). Well we find a tire place... after 150 bucks and another hour we barely have time , but should make it in time to start at 5. not 10 minutes down the road, we blow tire number 2!! thats it for me, I finally toss in the towel cause we are in the middle of nowhere and no extra spare. So i waited for my dad to come up from tucson and bring another tire (Actually had him bring 2 lol). Well the guys played the gig with no bass. Gotta Say the Savage Zoo are troopers! Finally got mobile again about 10 till 7. I just went home.

Also gotta add

My wife was driving so i got to give her kudos for keeping that big truck on the road both times, as it was the right front ... then the left front that blew.Man I love that woman, lets me spend too much on bass stuff and drives to boot! Hmmm Maybe I should hit up Nascar .. lol!

Bummer.
The Karma Bank owes you some dividends with interest.

Wow. That stinks. Props to your wife for great driving. Controlling a steer tire blowout is not an easy feat - and she did it twice! You should enter her in Bullrun.

Ah.....no.

Sorry to hear about your less than stellar travel experiences.

Hope your dad paid back the $150.

I'd replace the other 2 tires as well and get the entire truck checked out along with changing the engine oil, brake fluid, trans fluid and every other maintenance item your dad has overlooked.

Nothing like the brakes going out!
