We Finally Made The Big Time!!!

My band has finally arrived!! A friend of ours was at a family event out of state, and brought one of our rare collectible CD's of original material with her. She handed it over to the DJ at the club she was at, and he played our runaway smash "Icky Face". Apparently, by the end of the tune, everyone was singing along to the chorus. They demanded a re-playing of the tune later on that evening as well. I think the DJ talked her out of her rare collectible CD of our original material. So.... In The Red, is apparently HUGE in Fisk MO.

Yep, Fisk Missouri, population; 363.

I think we're waiting on a few other big breaks before we plan our "Tour"!

With a population that big, I think your "tour" is going to consist of turning your equipment 90 degrees and playing four shows.

Most of the town were probably in the club, too! Great way to win over an entire urban population center at a single swipe.

A band I was in a couple of years back had a similar experience with their x-rated cover of Paper Plane, renamed Pervy Plane. Local pub owners could never understand why their patrons would put the Quo original on the jukebox and then all sing "Would you like to ride my shiny nob?" at top volume .

Sounds like a similar tune, at least lyrical content wise!

Shoot Mike! I just wish the cover band went over in G-rap!

So far, nobody seems to be able to scrape up bus fare for the trip to Fisk Mo.

If you started a band simply to "make it big", then quit now because the world is already caked with crap as it is.

Yeah, but if your ultimate goal with your band is to make money, then thats pathetic.

Nah! I'm in it for the chicks! (Popcorn shrimp aint too bad either!)

It's a stupid 3 chord song that just happens to be catchy as hell. I'm amazed as well as amused by it's cult status.

Gotta do it, man. Show up with the Big Show. Have a parade and get the Mayor to give you a Key to the City. Play in the center of town. Do the CD signing, show up at the club later that night in the fancy threads. Get the word out that you're gonna ROCK THAT TOWN and put it on the map. Get the local news to cover it and send the feed to the network. Confetti, banners, streamers... I bet you could make a big impression and get it to go viral. Kinda reminds me of early Kiss, where the music rags covered them just burning-down Pontiac in the days before anyone knew who they were...

Jump on it, man. This may be the call... (It'll make a great video, too!)

I must hear this "Icky Face" you speak of.
Is it some kind of pron reference?
