 weired event
i bought a 2x10 bass cabinet on line from an usa manufacturer about 1 year ago and have been very pleased with it. was using a behringer bv550 head and a 15" harke. sold them both and bought an ampeg pf500 head and an ampeg pn410hlf cabinet and have been using the 2x10 as an extension. thought the sound was pretty good. But since the 2x10 was cheap, i decided to upgrade the speakers. went by my speaker repair shop and they had a pair of swr enimence 10" they had re-coned but were never picked up. i told them to load them in.. the very 1st night i used all 3 items together, after 2 songs, the 2x10 started to sound really bad. had to unplug it. took it back to my speaker man so see what was wrong. hoping i didn't mess than up. come to fine out, the swr eminence speakers were so strong, powerful, and deeper, that they were physically vibrating the magnet off the tweeter. can you believe that. will use them all again tonight and hopefully all will go well. if not, i'll pull the tweeter out. |
