Sign in to disble this ad
and saw a cool Fender hat. Picked it up to check price tag & it said "Retail Price: $20.00 GC Price: $19.99". Laughed so hard I thought they were gonna throw me out.

Sounds like the start of a blues tune: "I went to GC today,..."

You should have bought it and paid $20 cash and say how it was a really good deal.

Offer to buy a set of strings if they discount the hat.

So what they pay that and way more for those you know "cool hats" with stickers still on them all the time.

There are a lot of times that, say GC, probably will not make much of a profit off certain merchandise. Fender probably threw them some hats either cheap or free for selling a lot of their products. If the hats cost was say 16 beans, that means a 20% profit would mean they made only 4 bucks off the hat. Compare that to a $1,000 bass (GC price) they make $200 profit. (and I am only using 20% as a rough estimate, its might be a higher percentage than that)

I actually used that to my advantage once with the Roadrunner gig bags. They were going up in price but they still had the old promo of that on them. Saved me $10.

Me: It says GC Price $29.99, why was it rung up $39.99. They gladly ate it and I was happy, my GC is pretty helpful
