The former student of mine who also played bass at the church where I play actually did that as an intro for a song once (it was a different one, and I don't remember the title), and it was funnier because he had no idea who rage was. When I pointed it out to the lead player we both were laughing hysterically.

Nice title for a thread about church. You apparently need to listen a little closer to the message instead of worrying about your bass solos.

You sound like you need a better education in quite a few ways, actually.

Christianity only dictates not to use the name of God in vain. Says nothing about other swears.

Hell, humbug was a swear up until not too long ago.

And smooth, TS, smooth.

I'm not part of the christian community, but once I provided PA equipment for some large worship event. Obviously I had no clue, and me and my crew spent the whole week tryin to keep a low profile, but we ended doing lots of thinks people around didn't like. One of them was playing some rock tunes through the PA for the soundcheck in the early morning. Then some of the organizers came and told us to stop playing "that" and put some "good" worship songs. I honestly didn't dug that since people haven't arrived yet, and they wouldn't understand the songs' message, if any, 'cause it was in english. It all came down to the fact of that music being loud and not very consonant nor easy to listen. I respect other's people faith but that seemed ridiculous to me. Later performances almost at the end of the day seemed way more intense to me.

Actually, I'm an atheist, so if anything he's simply reinforcing negative hypocritical stereotypes about church going folk to more logical people like me. More power to him.
