"Bass player and keyboard player wanted, must have jazz chops. No a--holes need apply."

(Wonders if anyone will see what I did here).

Hi. My name is Woody and I am an art student/guitarist/singer/songwriter and I love blues and folk music and all things Americana. The Beach Boys are the reason I play music. I'm looking for like-minded musicians to form a band or would also be interested in joining an existing band provided they share my goal of revolutionizing rock and roll.

Great guess. Close, and I realized actually could be. Perhaps I should have added must be between the ages of 17 and 27.

Feel I may have not given enough info on this one, but I'll let it stand none the less. Going to see if I could still edit the last post.

I'm getting a San Pedro vibe off of these cats... Seem like they'd be real into slang and shorthand. Real local stuff. The kinda stuff you'd need a guide to understand.

"Eight piece Orange County based ska band seeking new drummer after our last one subbed for another band while touring and left us to join them. Must be energetic and enthusiastic, and willing to have fun on stage. Willing to wear matching costumes and go by a campy superhero style stage name is a must."

"Guitarist/vocalist and keyboardist seeking drummer for highly experimental group. Focus more on making noise than music. Be willing to play for little to no money and have no audience. Wait... there's this asian girl we can use. She doesn't speak English and she doesn't even know how to play drums, but she can learn..."

"Seeking a variety of musicians for live performance of hit album at a festival in Sweden. Heavy usage of sampling, double dutch chants and movie and television soundtrack music. All sampled vocals are too distorted and compressed to be legible, so vocalist must be able to write or improvise own lyrics."

The Aquabats

I'm starting to sense that everyone's getting a handle on how this game works; the clues are getting even tougher than my #45, which still has yet to be answered correctly. I'm now up to 2 wrong answers, as well.

Carl Palmer was the last to join ELP, although it certainly reads to me like mixtapelove might have had them in mind.

You are correct sir but have not yet named the San Pedro band in question. Too easy of clues I guess for a local and you are bowing out graciously?

The Jesus Lizard (although at first I thought of Rapeman, but they didn't have the public nudity)

Cool!

Originally I started this thread as a more humorous thing....
If we saw CL ads from our favorite or famous bands, we'd probably never want to come out to audition or think they would make it.

But, it's a fun game however you want to do it.

Here's another:

Trumpet player who is tired of playing lame dance music seeks virtuoso Jazz musicians to break the boundaries of music. If you're into making people dance, or even caring about the audience, this is the wrong gig for you. This is about the music and the musicians. So if you want to take a journey to create new genres and styles, hit me up.

You got it.

How about-

Do you have what it takes to be a pop star?
Seeking rhythm section for new act with management and contacts already in place. Must have contemporary look and the chops to follow world class guitarist/frontman with years of previous stage experience. Long hours, jet lag, etc. No wankers.
