What are the best shoes for metal?

and you got no replies?!
gee i wonder why
for starters metal is more than one genre for a start there's everything from "nu metal" to "oldschool metal" allow me to filll you in

doom metal: more spikes the better tbh a medievel torture device connected to a set of newrocks on steroids will be just fine

death metal: any shoes containg human bone will be just fine infact if you can make a high heel out of a spinal collum your in with the cool kids

thrash metal: ripped denim or leather boots will be fine so long as you wear them with the "i'm harder than you coz i listen to thrash despite living at home with my mum" attitude

black metal: just strap on some viking boots and grow a beard no one cares i mean its not like they can understand the vocalist anyway

gothic metal: a pair of bat wings on the heel fashioned from the anus af a fruitbat will be a great addition to any upside down cross you might be wearing round your neck

power metal: shoes made from spandex are the in thing if you can get them in leopard print or zebra print then even the 20 min solo from the guitarist will be outshadowed by your awesome shoes

nu metal: all of the above combined but with a hollier than thou attitude that somehow what your doing is totally original despite being done 10 years before you twice as good by 5 times as many bands

emo metal: not even your shoes understand you or the plight you endure from day as a tortured artist

oh n before anyone climbs on there high horse (this is talkbass after all) i'm the biggest metal geek on the planet so dont tell my i dont understand

Back in the late 80s all the metalheads in my town wore the same Reebok high tops. To this day, I consider them the best shoes for metal.

Only the all black ones though. White trim and souls make them Indie.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too...all black canvas and rubber.

I wear charcoal grey Chuck T's with the white rubber trim...doesn't look as "high contrast" as black against white.
And, once the rubber gets dirty, it's not so glaring.
When I was a kid, I would get a pair of new Chuck T's and deliberately get them dirty

Our singer one time tried soccer cleets that were all black. He jumped off the stage and busted his "#@&" to say the least. Next gig, he was back in the trust worthy Reeboks. I always liked the high top leather basketball shoes by Converse or Puma. They were not black, but I also didn't care.

bwest9 does have a great since of humor, I am laughing my "#@&" off now. If Tiny Tim or Elton John ever put out a heavy metal album, they would be wearing these.

Leather boots, if steel toed or military surplus, even better.

At one of my recent gigs, I wore my beat up gym shoes, which happen to be Reebok high-tops and got complimented on my 'metal' footwear. Prior to that, I was not aware of the role that Reeboks played in the history of Metal.

Me and my singer both have these

Only hers go halfway up her shin.

Also, in the list of different metal genres, you forgot prog metal. Perhaps something gold and sparkly. Or something made dragon's skin.

With these boots on, I believe I will be delivering the HEAVIEST and most SOLID bass lines ever!!!

Plus, the speed of my feet (actually, the inability to move them) will be diverted to my fingers, so my runs and fills will be fast and furious
