What do you charge for a Fair gig?

I overhead a performer at a county fair tell another performer to make sure they don't over charge......but I never got the chance to ask him exactly what do you charge for a Fair gig? They're either 5 or 10 days, with 2-3 shows (45min-1hour each) per day... Anyone have an idea?

I played a couple of county fairs a few years ago. At one, we played two sets with about an hour in b/w for some kids talent show thing. I think we got $150 each (5 piece). The other one there was only about a 15 minute break.

In your case, I'd want to know what times the shows were. I wouldn't want to have to stand around all day to do 3 shows and not get paid for all that time (like a morning, afternoon, and evening show).

Find out what they're offering and then decide if you can do it for that amount. Are they providing the PA and someone to run it?
