I've never had anything thrown at me so I'm wondering... What do you do? I'm sure it will happen to me someday. I guess just wondering what the proper response should be. |

Dodge
Dip
Duck
Dive...
Dodge...
Don't throw your bass back at them though. You kinda need that.

A duck is the correct method, hitting them ain't.

If someone threw a food item at me, I'd dodge it.
But if a woman took her bra off and threw that on the other hand....

We were playing at this rough looking little biker bar right outside of El Paso once. The crowd was definitely more Sons of Anarchy types than Wild Hogs types, if you know what I mean.
They were in the middle of remodeling the place and had set up a temporary stage area where the bar used to be. There was a support post right in the middle of the front of the stage with a pay phone (remember those?) mounted on it. Early on in the first set, the phone started ringing. And kept ringing. And ringing. And ringing.
Finally, one of the patrons launched a beer at it. Fortunately, he had great aim and it hit the phone, knocking it off the hook so it stopped ringing. Unfortunately, the nearly full bottle shattered, spraying the entire stage with beer and shards of glass. The guy was very apologetic, picked up our tab and kept buying us rounds the rest of the show.
We ended up pretty much being the house band for the bar and the associated motorcycle club for several years. |
