I haven't had a gig yet, but this is on of those things that keeps bothering me. I have obviously sneezed when practicing, so I expect to sneeze at least once during a gig. What do you do to stop/hide yourself from doing it? |

It's just like farting during a show, only probably more visible and less smelly , You just do it.
If You're a metalhead just disguise a sneez as head-banging.
One has to be extra careful if in a position of a band leader to avoid un-necessary nods though. That may result some unwanted changes in song structure .

I just sat there with my mouth open waiting to blow. My wife was sitting next to me and said, "Think of cows munching on concrete." What?...I said, "what the hell are you talking about?" She said, "You dont have to sneeze anymore do you?" Holy cow it worked. Thats the dumbest thing I have ever seen, but I guess my mind had to comprehend that nonsense and couldn't maintain the sneeze feeling.

I remember a few years back, I was getting over a bad cold and had heavy mucous in my throat. I just coughed a little and a big greenish yellow lugey came out and landed on the edge of the drummers cymbal. When he hit the cymbal, it went airborne. I was laughing so hard, I didn't see where it went from there. |

| | | | A cool little trick I've learned is press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. The urge will go away |

Or, you can wear longsleeves. |

And try not to face the crowd much until you can wipe properly you'd be surprise where phlem can end up after an on-stage sneeze
