Ok, I so my band is playing our last show, theres alot of people there, everythings going great right? oops we get shut down.....too loud and too many kids moshing. Ok so that's not SO bad, so the guitar player and me semi pissed off go to the drummers to sleep over and we prepacked the car with my bass(my beautiful carvin baby), his 2 guitars, and his mode 4 head and cab so we could leave early the next morning right away. Guess what? we get outside the next morning to the car AND EVERYTHING IS STOLEN! EVERYTHING. We filed a police report but that really doesn't mean anything because all they said is "we'll call you if anything shows up, and we also checked local pawnshops and nothing.....this day has been extremely hectic and stressful and now I am without a bass, just thought I would share.

Not that you guys did anything wrong but maybe this will prompt more people to never leave their gear in the car overnight, atleast things that are easily transportable like a guitar.
I hope you get your stuff back!

But to have the gear in a car .. well its probably the worst place to keep gear in. Easy to get in , and the insurance wont pay it.

We go in and look and all of our gear is still there, except for all the cables, mics and drum sticks; nothing else was stolen, no guitars, cabinets, heads, drums...etc. It was really weird and I was out 2 Shure SM58 mics and 2 20ft. Monster P500 mic cables. That was our last night there. |

I know it's little consolation, but so many of us on TB have lost irreplaceable, uninsured gear through theft. We share your loss because we know exactly how it feels. Feelings of revenge are natural, but try not to let anger consume all your time.

I am glad that I have a truck with a tonneau cover made of fiberglass, because nobody can see what's inside without working REALLY hard to do it.
Even still, I always bring gear inside, because I know how easy it is to break into a car... It's a pain, but the hauling of gear gives me excercise, which I need, and keeps my stuff safer. Like I said, I hope it can be recovered.

Or maybe it's a heart-attack. Seriously though, that reallly sucks. I hope that you can get everything back and then kick the thieves in the balls.

Post pictures if possible.

I really don't know. The part that really sucks, is that I have some gigs comming up and who knows what the hell I'm going to do. |
