Just this past Saturday I played for a couple thousand people at a big music festival on a college campus. The weather was perfect and there were 2 stages. Biggest crowd I've played in front of thus far. Fun gig but our set wasn't nearly long enough. I guess that's what happens when you've got a lot of bands lined up all in one day.
So what's the biggest you've played for? I know there's guys out there who's played in front of bigger crowds than I just did.

Back in the day I played at a rock show with several other acts as well, about 700 tickets sold that night, so for us I'd say about 400.
Sounds extremely stupid I know, but for me it's not the size of the crowd, but the way they appreciate You.
Perhaps I'm just old. Or bitter. Or both .

I know you guys are lurking on here!!! You know who you are! Playing in front of FORTY or FIFTY thousand.... Dudes handing you different basses during the set...
In my experience I agree on the size vs. appreciation.... best show I ever played was in a little hole in the wall with 80 punks, place was designed to seat less than half that, they toppled the lighting, pushed the security man into us (we'd keep pushin him back into the crowd!) It was a blast until the riot troops showed up. |

Just on Saturday we played for 200 - 300 and that was amazing, biggest crowd ever. I couldn't even imagine playing for an audience in the 1000's.

I have the privelege of regularly playing in front of an audience of 1000+, at my church. We've got just under two thousand members, split unevenly between two services.
With my cover band, we're having a really good night if 500 people show up (depending on venue, of course, some places don't hold that many people legally), and we probably average about 150 a night.

I've played for several 1000+ audiences at schools and music festivals and that is alot of fun.
