For a limited time you can delete a post by pressing the edit button at the bottom right. After a couple of months or so you can't. This comes in handy if you frequently post while drinking.

You can delete a thread you started in the classifieds by using the thread tools at the upper right of the first post but I don't think you can do it anywhere else without contacting a moderator/admin, one of which will probably come along and move this to forum usage issues. Unless this is some sort of a gig joke that went over my head.

Vakmere's post may belong in forum usage humor.

I put a post up and 15 minutes later had second thoughts and tried to use the edit/delete button but no delete options appeared. So I removed the original content but had to leave the thread up, no option to remove it...

I think you can only delete one comment within the thread. You can edit but not delete the first one. Murphy is correct: I believe only a Mod can delete an entire thread.
