Who Doesn't Love a good Stage Invasion?

Sign in to disble this ad
Our second gig, we played the best we ever have, to a crowd of mainly our friends, and a fairly lively audience and we even get accompanied on stage!

well, it was christmas
and it was Slade :P

still with a review like this:

First up was Calling Shotgun featuring Chris Blythe (vocals/guitar), Kieran Gorse (drums), Rich Leahy (guitar/vocals) and Mike Sealey (bass). They entertained with a seven track set, Calling Shotgun, What We Knew, Rip Out Your Lungs, Sell My Soul, Cous Cous and Chains. These they delivered with enthusiasm and aplomb, displaying their individual talents to the full, combining well together to a warm reception from the Pentre crowd. As a finale, several additional personnel took to the stage, led by Dave Parry (Slightly Generic) to close the set with a rendition of Slade’s Merry Christmas. An inspired ending, which set the mood for the remainder of the evening.

we must have done OK :P

any stage invasions to share?
lets see the pics!

had a stage invasion once with my old band a few years ago (dead kings rise)
it wasnt quite as cool as yours though we were only invaded by one person and he ran up to the guitarist and headbutted him for making moves on his girlfriend

I really wish I had a pic...

We played a festival in a park and there was a drunk guy picking up cans who staggered his way on stage and started trying to dance with the guitarist / singer in the band. He is staggering around stepping on effects while we played until one of the sound guys ran him off. The rest of the show he stood in front of the stage ballroom dancing and moshing with himself - to southern rock.

Half that thread is about stage invasions. Mine involved women removing their underwear... (and no, it wasn't a strip joint).

Played a cool club on Friday and the waitress carrying around a tray of shots came up on stage and offered us all shots during the middle of a song. She came up on stage later to dance and sing along in the mic to one of our cover songs too! The crowd got a kick out of that - as did we! (don't have pics b/c I was playing bass at the time!)

Played a cover gig years ago in a funk-ish band and we were playing "I Was Made For Loving You" by KISS late into the gig, when a dude who must've been 7' tall walked in dressed as Gene Simmons - with makeup and all - walked in the room, up to us playing (there wasn't a raised stage) and stood behind our saxophonist whilst resting one hand on his shoulder as he soloed and stood there for the rest of the song. Pretty random.

We got invaded last weekend. Mama wasn't too fond of the cute little gal rubbin' her crotch on my leg. Came up on stage and set her straight! It was pretty funny.

REAL stage invasion - My band in 1994. I didn't played bass in this particular song, I played synth and loops and stuff like this.

Not my stage, but Mike Watt is right there and I'm in the crowd with Iggy and the recently departed Ron Asheton (R.I.P.).

This guy came to be known as Billy Bob. He sometimes shows up at our punk gigs and stage dives.

Planning the dive:

Brought someone with him this time:

This is the only pic i have of a stage invasion at one fo my gigs.
The two guys in the pic are the drummer and singer. The singer was rushing off to get his camera. I took the pic while holding down the root note with one hand, hence its a bit crap.
They were all East European girls and the really did know how to party :-)
