Who was the most famous cat you played with

I was at a weekly jam night at a blues bar and it was my turn to go up. I played 4 songs and got off. I sat down feeling pretty good and started talking to another jammer.

Me: Man, that was fun. That drummer was really good.

Other guy: Don't you know who that was?

Me: No?

Other guy: That was Jerry Mercer from April Wine.

Me: Cool!

Apparently he lives in the neighborhood and drops in once in a while.

Pat Leonard, the keyboardist? As in Madonna? As in Trillion - that's where I know of him in my Chicago days. His drummer there was in my class in high school.

The best I got is Ted Nugent.

Didn't we just do a thread like this?

I played a song with the front man / founder of "Bargain Music" from Long Beach, Cali. They called it quits since, but it was pretty cool. He was friends with Sublime and Bargain played a similar style.
I also played with Gerald Veasley in an educational setting. He's an unbelievably nice person and a great educator as well as being one of the best bassists in the world.

If you count Wooten's camp jam, then Reggie, Future Man, Victor Wooten; Rainey, Bailey, Nitti, etc...

Otherwise, no one with somewhere better to be would stop in my town to 'jam'. lol

Ben Burnley from Breaking Benjamin. They weren't big at the time, just another local club act.

I've opened for several big acts, but never directly jammed with them.

Nationally? Gotta be my drummer. I had no luck finding their video, but I did find their big song from the Road Rash soundtrack on Youtube. Somewhere on the interweb there is the full length music video featuring lot and lots of flour falling from the ceiling.

Here's the roadrash sound track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXcGJrFU3Oc

They actually opened for Dream Theater for one tour. I guess techno pop is a pretty rough opener for technical metal. He did get to hang out with Mike Portnoy though.....

Some gigs, some jams:

Eddie Money, Brad Gillis (Night Ranger, Ozzy), Leonard Haze (Y&T), David Medd (The Tubes), and Gary Putman (Dread Zeppelin).

There's also a list of sidemen I've gigged with that have toured with the biggies; mostly drummers.

He is cool, is he as cool and laid back in person as he seems to be? Did you get to meet Heidi Klum?

My workshop leader at school is Lorne Loksky, so incredible jammin with him. Especially at my last shop where we played an original of mine and I got to hear Lorne's interpretation of it, what a blast.

My band had opened for the Bosstones, and the Ataris. The trombone player from the Bosstones, Chris (I think) came up and jammed with us during our soundcheck.

Since we are dipping into the opening act vein as well. I've opened for with various bands:

Ronnie Milsaps, Five-Eight, Local H, The Giraffes, Riddle Of Steel, Egypt Central, Social Burn, TRUSTcompany, Puddle Of Mudd, Saliva, Crossfade, Finger 11, Clutch, Yellow Card, and Blue October.

Local H was the best by far out of all those acts. Followed by Five-Eight. Totally super nice guys.
