Conscience attack - I would like to humbly apologize to any who may have been offended by my insensitive wisecracks.

Rock on bass sisters!

""""What planet is British Columbia on? The U.S., at least in large northern cities, stopped being a mans world about 20 years ago."""""

There's no need to insult British Columbia.....and it "is" still a man's world even in 2012.....as you so eloquently mention when you say you are a "50's man".....

You shouldn't call men "girls" or in fact "gay" because they like accordions, flutes, etc....either...so now it's a gay bashing thread too?

I accept your apology......

Can't we all just get along?

I said I was sorry. Was not meaning to insult Canada or gays. I love BC. Was just responding to a question of what planet I'm from etc - seemed a little harsh to me.

As for those activities which tend to be viewed as more "feminine" I was simply pointing out that a lot of guys would not be caught dead participating in them. Its ok for women to be tomboys but guys do not have the same cultural freedom to be "tomgirls" without being ostracized.

Anyway, where is my time machine. I gotta go back to the 50's and feed my dinosaur.

If you aren't a bass player you probably wouldn't have the least bit of interest as to what goes on in a forum such as this. Then, consider the small amount of female bass players there actually are out there! And finally consider that any normal woman( not a bass player), who is in her right mind, would have no reason or desire to " hang out" here!

I myself found this forum while trying to find answers to all of my "new to bass" questions! I think it's an awesome place full of great info, helpful peeps and an occasional laugh or two! I will admit that it does frequently feel as if I am hanging out in the men's locker room while hearing things I probably shouldn't ( guy talk)! But, having said that, it is no where near as bad as my time spent in the Air Force!

I've been hanging out on TB to get info and help on some equipment, etc.....but if I didn't play bass I certainly wouldn't be here in the first place.....most TB'ers are great, all of them have helped me spend my $$ on the right gear that I needed....my rig is just fantastic, mind you I've spent more $$ than I ever would had I not hung out here on most days, reading and learning about the gear....all in all it's been a great experience for me....maybe I just haven't come across the "bad" ones and TBers have been accepting of my being a female bass player......

Personally, I don't think there is ANYTHING hotter than

A... a chick bass player (Gotta be good though, not just there for a "look" or because she's a sh-tty guitar player...though the last half of that comment describes about 77.36% of today's "bass players")

or...

B...a chick riding her own motorcycle (but not a crotchrocket)

I like to think that I'm not in that 77.36%, I'm firmly in the "there for a look" category.

Women hate when men smile or have fun unless they are the ones who make us. Anything else makes them jealous, xbox, sports, music, cars, beer,ect.......

Definitely not there for the looks, or because I'm a poor guitar player (I don't play that at all), and maybe not because I have all that much talent yet (I've only been playing a year). I think it's because I have an "I can conquer the world" attitude, decent timing, and I show up early every week. Oh. Yeah. Having a long contact list of bookers and event planners helps.
