Playing the first 'Joe Nerve' show in my life tonight. Calling it The Joe Nerve Project for now. Doing all my own material. First time in a long while that I must admit I've got some jitters. I love playing bass, I'm not a big fan of singing lead (never did it before for more than 1 song), and the idea of fronting a band never appealed to me at all. Going to be doing it all tonight...

that's all for now. Where's the sweating smiley? Actually, I'm more excited than Nervous. Just felt like documenting this here.
--------------------------------------------------
For those who asked...

Many hours later. Videos are here. It's a bar, what can I say. Nice and comfy for my first time out. We gots a slow one. And a faster one. Thanks again everyone.

Congratulations, man. I've considered doing the same thing from time to time, just never had the nerve to go out and do it.

Let us know how it goes, and have fun

Nice, have fun!

I just started fronting my own band again for the first time in 5 years. Big risk, big reward.

I'm happy to say the gig went smimmingly.

The place was a lot smaller than I expected, typical (but nice) bar. It's also a tattoo place down below. I was doing this gig because it was an old Nerve fan's b'day bash and he asked if I wanted to put something together. I've been wanting to do my own thing for a while so I figured this was a great and comfortable opportunity.

I've been playing other people's music for a few years and it felt awesome to get back to playing some of my own. The singing thing was the price I had to pay, but for a first timer I'm happy about the way it went. Some of the songs we did were old nerve songs and a lot of peope knew them. Having a bunch of people sing along to lyrics I wrote is a rush I haven't felt in a long while.

I used to spill my guts all over talkbass when we had the ability to delete our own threads. I don't wear my heart on my sleeve like I used to because there were many times I rethought and deleted things I put out there. The venting kind of stuff. Past couple of years I've been struggling with a lot of stuff though, and I felt like last night was my first night of true redemption. I needed this gig like penicillin. Joe Nerve is back. I've got some vids, but it was in a tiny bar, sound quality kinda sucks... I may post em anyhow. I'll see after I have another look and cut em up into individual songs.

Thanks everyone for the good words and support. It was truly appreciated. I'll post some pics after I go throught them.
