Well, my new band (A History Of Night, www.myspace.com/ahistoryofnight) is playing our first show in a long time. We organized a fundraiser for Haiti aid.
We managed to get some of Winnipeg's best bands to join us, and we're hoping for a big turnout.

This will be my first time performing with a Double Bass as well as my first time as lead vocalist.
Not gonna lie to you, I'm a little nervous.

That's a lot of firsts for one night.

I'll post again tomorrow with a review of the show.

Almost sounds like too many variables to be comfortable, but then again, some of the best music made was borne of risk-taking.

Break a leg, Im sure you'll do great!

What feels like nerves, you come to find out, is more of an anticipatory excitement.

Thanks guys!

The show went great. We raised a bunch of money, and we had a blast.

Singing on stage is a helluva lot different than singing in the practice space, and there were some issues with feedback from the double bass, but all of that was to be expected.

All in all, it was a great experience and the initial stress of performing with a new instrument (and singing) was gone by the second song.
