Could we have this one as a sticky.

No offence to Jezz8me and his BoB story, but I think it is only fair to separate the:

"Worst gig from HELL ever"
from the merely...
"Bad gigs" or "Annyoing gigs"

My bad gigs don't even come close.

Man, that "gig from hell" thread thingy from Marcus reduces anything else to merely being "mildly annoying"...

Yeah, Marcus you win. Not that it's an honor in this thread.

Cheers,
Jim

bad gigs

for me, many years ago at a bar gig (late '70's?) folks crammed in front of us (both band and crowd at floor level), a major fistfight breaks out dead center RIGHT in front of us. was so crowded there was nowhere to move, girls screaming, guys just itching to get involved. crowd pushing, beerbottles flying. as the fight expands and more unruly drunks get involved, we pull the mikestands back and physically circle around the amps and drums, just trying to create a buffer zone to gaurd the equipment. we're actually PUSHING people back as THEY are being pushed into the equipment zone. took about 15 SCARY minutes for it to end , the equipment is ok (cept for some soggy beer spots) the bad guys get ejected by bouncers, no one majorly hurt and we get back playing. i look back now and laugh, it WAS BAD but it coulda been a *lot* worse.
