Would you buy a face amp

Sign in to disble this ad
This add has been popping up on the Austin Craigslist for a couple of weeks. First the story was the owner of the amp was in jail and needed the money for bail. Now if I remember correctly it had gone up in price and is Roy Estrada's old gear.

Top Part
Ampeg Face Amplifier price $750.

Ampeg Base Cabinet 500 watt price $750

or $1100. for the pair
Cash

The whole thing belongs to Roy Estrada who performed with Frank Zappa, Mothers of Invention, Little Feet, and Capt. BeefHeart. He did not use it very much because would use backline while on tour recently with Grande Mothers.

guarantee that they work and they are in good shape.
I can text a pic to your cell phone.
A phone call is a must

My face is loud enough acoustically for everything but really big gigs. I don't need to amplify it.

Most of the venues I play have pretty decent PA support, so I don't need an extra face amp. I just stick a mic in front of mine and I'm good to go.

One time, with my bass & drum combo I played with, the PA blew out on us, because they had too many pseakers hooked up to an weak PA head. I sang the rest of the show acoustically, and if you were anywhere within 20 feet of the stage, you could still hear me. No need for Face Amp.
